Take your family on a Moroccan adventure! Be enchanted by the sights and sounds of Djemaa el Fna in Marrakech, go camel trekking in the Sahara and camp among the rolling sand dunes, discover the legendary Ait Benhaddou and much more! With plenty of free time for pool fun and relaxation. This tour is designed for children aged 5 and over.
Upon arrival at Marrakech airport you will be welcomed and transferred to our hotel. The welcome meeting at 18:00 this evening offers the opportunity to meet the guide and other travelers before dinner.
Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou. After breakfast we leave for our journey through the High Atlas mountains to the legendary Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village located along the ancient caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Granted on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the site has been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia and The Gladiator. After lunch and time to relax by the pool, we enjoy a guided tour of this extraordinary site, exploring the ancient winding alleys, towers and kasbahs, a handful of which still remain inhabited today.
Ait Benhaddou - N'kob. After breakfast, we leave our hotel and head to the Berber oasis of N'kob, located at the foot of the Jebel Saghro mountains, nestled among exotic palm trees. Here, we have time to explore the 45 ksour (fortified village) of N'kob mud bricks and learn about Ait Atta Nomad and their way of life. The rest of the afternoon is available to stroll around the Palmerie, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views and have a tea in the home of a local family. Alternatively you can return to the hotel to relax in the afternoon.
N'kob - Merzouga. Today we head to the mighty Sahara Desert stopping along the way for lunch, and in the summer we may have time for a swim. In Merzouga we move on camels for an incredible trek through the vast dunes of Erg Chebbi for a night in our authentic Berber camp. An experience that will surely leave a lasting impression on young and old! We enjoy a relaxing evening in the desert; we can climb the giant sand dunes and watch an incredible sunset before settling down to enjoy local food and Berber music. Tonight we camp under the glittering Saharan stars.
Merzouga - Todra Gorge. Leaving the desert, we go today to the Todra Gorge. This 1000-foot gorge is surrounded on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is known as the Grand Canyon of Morocco. From its dizzying depths to dizzying heights, Todra’s charm lies in its changing colors as the sun slowly moves from east to west. There is time to admire the gorge before heading to a traditional Berber cooperative nearby. You can learn how these antique rugs are made and maybe even buy one to take home. There is also an optional Moroccan cooking lesson at lunchtime.
Todra Gorges - Ouarzazate. After breakfast, we head along the road to the Valley of the Roses, famous in Morocco for its roses. Here we can stop to see a variety of different rose products. before heading to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of North Africa. There is an optional visit to his famous film studios, which were used for films such as The Kingdom of Heaven, Alexander the Great, The Last Temptation of Christ and The Living Daylights.
Ouarzazate-Marrakech. Today we take an incredible trip to the High Atlas mountains to return to Marrakech. The afternoon is free to spend before dining in one of the restaurants in Djemaa el Fna square, the exuberant market that literally comes to life in the evening. Filled with spicy aromas, exotic music, stalls, snake charmers, magicians, storytellers and more, it is without a doubt Morocco’s most vibrant and captivating attraction!
Marrakesh. This morning there is an optional guided tour of Marrakech, visiting the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the lively Jewish Quarter, bookable on site for 200 dirham. Alternatively, spend the day exploring the city, shopping in the souks or relaxing by the pool.
Our Moroccan adventure is over after breakfast, greetings and goodbyes to new friends found.
