What is the best time to visit Morocco?
The best time to visit Morocco is spring (mid-March to May) or autumn (September to October). The climate is warm but pleasant, unlike the cold temperatures and snow of winter, or the scorching heat of summer.
The coastal regions can be visited all year round. In winter they are pleasantly mild, while in summer they bask in temperatures hovering around the mid-20s.
The High Atlas Mountains can also be visited all year round, even if it gets cold in winter. Summer may still be a little hot to undertake any long distance hikes, but if the heat doesn’t bother you then conditions are good any time between April and October. Outside of these months there is snow on the peaks, which makes hiking more dangerous, but creates spectacular views.
The Islamic holiday of Ramadan will affect transport in Morocco. The dates vary each year, so it’s worth checking what they are as you plan your trip.
