This all-inclusive private tour is suitable for travelers who are determined not to leave Morocco without visiting the Sahara or who decide at the last minute to incorporate a desert stay. It offers you two full days of hectic travel traversing the High Atlas Mountains and probably a road trip of a lifetime as you rock Kasbahs on your way to the desert.
Description
Our fast-paced “Saharan Dune Express” offers you a rich two full days trip to Southern Sahara and fleeting insights into traditional rural culture and lifestyles of local communities in the mountains, oases and desert region. You experience unique landscapes that change almost by the hour which avoids any questions of “are we there yet?”
That said, we feel that a two day tour covering such long distances does not ‘do’ justice to the unique sights and experiences on offer, you will find it to be a long and strenuous journey, however, we feel compelled to offer the tour due to its popularity . We understand the drive of wanting to visit the Moroccan Sahara and to experience a camel ride in the desert and Desert Camp despite time constraints.
To enhance the experience in a limited amount of time, we have always chosen to visit the Erg Lihoudi dune sets just beyond our hometown of Zagora, which are the most impressive. The Zagora Desert area, generally offered to visitors, is in our opinion not worthy of a visit and an overnight stay.

Epic road trip to a land that time forgot. We meet at your accommodation in Marrakech to depart at 7am. Spectacular road trip between High Atlas mountain and Tichka pass. An optional visit to the local argan oil cooperative. Lunch Agdz Kasbah in the palm oasis. Scenic drive through the Draa valley lined with date palms. Visit Tamegroute handcrafted pottery in an 11th century village. Partial tour of the Tamegroute underground Kasbah. Tamegroute Kasbah is still inhabited by local families. An optional visit to the Koranic library of Tamegroute. Arrive at Erg Lihoudi camp in the late afternoon/early evening. Photo stops and refreshments at will. 1 night in the desert with lunch, dinner and breakfast included.
Rock The Kasbah, camels and dunes. After breakfast camel ride of about 1 hour. Refreshments in the small Palmerie garden. UNESCO Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah Tour. Lunch Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou or Kasbah Telouet. Tour of the distressed but ornate Kasbah Telouet. Return to scenic drive over the High Atlas and Tichka Pass. Photo stops and refreshments at will. Arrive at your accommodation in Marrakech in the early evening.
