Itinerary

Giorno 1 Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga

Your journey will begin with pickup from your accommodation in Fez at 8:00am. The journey will take you through the charm of the Middle Atlas, passing Ifrane, a non-Moroccan style winter ski resort built by the French and resembling a Swiss village. Then you will stop at the cedar forest in Azrou to enjoy the nature and feed the monkeys. Most of the day will be spent meandering through beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces and Berber villages as you traverse the Atlas Mountains and descend towards the Sahara Desert. Halfway, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks; then, we will continue to Merzouga on the road. We will stop at panoramic views to see the vast palm oasis. We reach Merzouga in the afternoon, depending on your arrival, at the traditional Kasbah at the foot of the Erg-Chebbi dunes. After rest and mint tea, your guide and camels will be waiting to take you through the sand dunes of erg-Chebbi, you will enjoy the beauty of sunset on the camel, and after 1 hour, you will reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. The night will be delightful when you have time to unpack and have dinner while enjoying the bonfire and listening to traditional music.

Day 2 Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge or Ouarzazate

The second day will begin. After a delicious breakfast, you will depart Merzouga towards your day's destination Ouarzazate, traveling the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs that stand like turreted sand castles along this ancient caravan trade route. This area has long been a popular location for Hollywood films such as The Last Temptation of Christ, The Jewel of the Nile and most recently Hideous Kinky. The central region is one of Morocco's most exciting and romantic destinations, nestled along rich river valleys, palm houses and burnished mud bricks that glow with vibrant colors under the shelter of blue desert skies. We stop for lunch, walk into the Todra Gorge and traverse the Dadès valley past dramatic escarpments; we reach Ouarzazate in the afternoon, dinner and overnight.

Giorno 3 Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - Marrakech

On the last day of the trip, after breakfast, visit the city of Ouarzazate and its monuments, including the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Studios film studios, the largest and most famous in all of Africa. From here, we head towards the oasis of Fint, near Ouarzazate. We check-in at Ait Ben Haddou to have lunch. Then visit the famous UNESCO-listed Kasbah which was the scene of films such as Gladiator, Babel and Lawrence of Arabia; we continue passing by the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plain up to an altitude of 2260m passing by small villages, small waterfalls, through the ever changing landscape and colors of these beautiful Mountains. We reach Marrakech in the afternoon for the end of the trip. We hope you enjoyed our tour planning; let us know what you think by contacting us anytime.
